How it works
The GLA132-GGA Ultraportable Greenhouse Gas Analyser provides simultaneous measurements of methane, carbon dioxide, and water vapour within a compact, crushproof, and travel-friendly design.
The LGR-ICAS gas analysers build on the heritage and proven track record of Los Gatos Research analysers, incorporating patented Off-Axis Integrated Cavity Output Spectroscopy (OA-ICOS) Technology. This is the latest advancement in tuneable diode laser absorption technology.
Like all LGR-ICOS analysers, the GLA132-GGA ensures user-friendly operation and offers a wide dynamic range. It measures precise ambient levels while maintaining intrinsic accuracy, even at concentrations up to 50 times higher. The analyser has a robust construction which makes it ideal for field studies and environments requiring precise, reliable measurements.
The GLA132-GGA starts recording data within 20 seconds of powering on, eliminating the need for a long warm-up period for the system to thermally equilibrate. ABB’s patented OA-ICOS technology, characterised as a fourth-generation cavity enhanced absorption technique, offers many advantages over traditional cavity ringdown and direct absorption techniques.
OA-ICOS analysers are more user-friendly, known for their simplicity, ease of operation and ruggedness. They demonstrate negligible zero and span drift and require significantly less regular calibration with expensive reference gases. Resulting in higher performance and reliability with minimal operational expenses.
The GLA132-GGA is equipped with an internal computer which is capable of storing data almost indefinitely, which is useful for applications that require unattended, longer-term operation. It can transmit real-time recordings to a datalogger through its analog and digital (RS232) outputs. The analyser includes control and analysis software to streamline operation and data interpretation.
