  • Ideal for soil flux studies and field measurements of greenhouse gases
  • Extremely wide linear range, CH₄ range up to 10% (optional)
  • No cross interferences
  • Operates directly on DC power
  • Fast gas flow response time (less than 1 second, 1/e)
  • Can record data within 20 seconds after power on
  • Multiple data outputs and WiFi connectivity

The GLA131-GGA Microportable Greenhouse Gas Analyser reports fugitive emissions measurements of methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) simultaneously. It is in a handbag-size package that is compact and crushproof.

Small enough to be carried on-board aircraft and requiring less than 35 watts, the GLA131-GGA can travel anywhere, initiate data collection within 20 seconds after power up, may be operated wirelessly with a smartphone or tablet, and open up new opportunities to measure methane and carbon dioxide anywhere.

For example, this instrument allows measurements of natural gas leaks while you walk with a sensitivity that is more than 1000 times better than conventional methods based on flame ionisation. This allows leak detection from distances far from the source and with much greater reliability.

As with all ABB-LGR analysers, the GLA131-GGA utilises Off-Axis Integrated Cavity Output Spectroscopy (OA-ICOS). A patented, fourth-generation cavity-enhanced technique, OA-ICOS has many advantages over older and more delicate techniques such as Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS), and conventional laser spectroscopy.

In addition to providing extreme sensitivity due to the folded absorption path, and a wide dynamic range due to the direct absorption-based measurement, OA-ICOS is an inherently robust technique. Due to the off-axis alignment of the optics, the analyser is far less sensitive to temperature variations, vibrations, shocks, and dust than similar cavity-based methods. This also means the optics can be cleaned by the user, without needing an expensive return to the factory.

ABB-LGR analysers require no consumables, no carrier gases, and no regular recalibrations. The versatility and sturdiness of the OA-ICOS measurement cell enables reliable measurements in a wide range of applications and environments. ABB-LGR employs the OA-ICOS technique to measure a wide variety of gases and isotopes, in both ultra-precise rackmount laboratory instruments, and portable gas analysers for the field. All ABB-LGR analysers supplied by Enviro Technology are backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty, and responsive support from our expert team of UK-based technicians.
