How it works
The ICAD (Iterative Cavity enhanced Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) NO2 / NOx / NO measurement system from AirYX uses direct optical absorption spectroscopy in the spectral range between approximately 430 to 465 nm. By measuring the absorption spectrum and applying the ICAD algorithm, the unique and characteristic absorption structure of NO2 is directly identified and separated from other overlapping absorptions like water vapour (H2O) or Glyoxal (CHOCHO).
This gives the advantage of direct NO2 measurements without interferences to other substances or the need of drying mechanism which introduce new interferences (in comparison to e.g. Chemiluminescence (CLD), Cavity Ring-Down (CRD) and, Cavity Attenuated Phase Shift (CAPS) instruments).
Application
Remote Sensing of Real Driving Emission (RDE) using the Plume Chasing method: We now provide this as complete package with the additional CO2 sensor included and a software package which directly derive emission factors. So relatively simple to make such measurements.
