The Met One Instruments MCERTS Particulate Profiler (Model ES-405) is an air quality sensor designed to provide accurate real-time measurements of four key particulate concentrations in both indoor and outdoor environments.
This unit reports PM₁₀, PM₄, PM₂.₅ and PM₁ simultaneously. The sensor incorporates sheath air to prevent particles from contaminating the internal optics of the sensor and prevents particles from escaping. Data output can be configured as fast as each minute or with longer averaging intervals. Send data directly to the cloud for remote download and analysis with a CCS 2 Modem accessory. External meteorological sensors can be connected to the unit.
How it works
Laser Light Scatter System Sample air is drawn into the ES-405 detector chamber and subjected to an intense laser beam located at right angles to the flow.
Particles pass through the laser beam and scatter light that is collected onto a photodiode detector. The output of the detector is analysed to determine the number and size of the particles and mathematically processed to provide an indicative particulate mass measurement.
